  I was the very first bride to be married here, October 7th, 1974 the marriage took place ( by celebrant Eva Death :-/), at the foot of the staircase, as I descended in my beautiful gown made by my mother Amy Jean Campbell (nee Bennett) and long train & veil, the reception dinner was held in the grand dining room to the left of the entrance then the wedding reception dance was held in the grand room to right of the entrance. The groom and groomsmen dressed in the top left of upstairs bedroom and the bride and bridal party in the top right rooms. Above those rooms. My sister Kathy married there also, some years later, and Many weddings were to follow after mine.

  We recently visited Barwon Park Mansion again and as there had been a change of management since my last visit I was not too happy about having to have a guided tour whereas previously you could wander around by yourself.

  16 / 02 / 2013 The day my wife and I exchanged or wedding vows atop that iconic staircase. A day, a time, and location etched into our hearts forever. You call almost see, feel, and hear the history emanating from the walls of this magnificent home.

  However it was wonderful. A lovely man named Colin gave us a very comprehensive tour full of information. We were the only ones there so we had a very personal tour. There was no rush and we go to ask all our questions and learnt so much more that wandering around without a guide.
